News from the March Circuit Meeting - March 2017
Invitation and Stationing
Rev Huw Sperring leaves our Circuit summer 2017.
Rev Christopher Wood Archer takes up his appointment summer 2017. Rev Una Mclean is to move in summer 2018 and the invitation committee will start the process of Stationing in September
Rev Sue Greenwood, due to move in 2018 but has requested an extension of 2 years.
On 30 July, 6.00pm.
Welcome service for Christopher Wood Archer and his wife, Judith on 3rd September, 2.30pm at Eston Grange.
Rev Sue Greenwood will be on sabbatical for three months from the end of April.
Mrs Julie O’Key has been appointed to be a Circuit Steward and will take the place of Brian Glover whose term of office finishes at the end of August this year

September and the Darlington District is working to ensure all our
churches are fully prepared. Updates to training and DBS renewals are ongoing. Three ‘Creating Safer Space’ training sessions were held.
as reported previously there will not be a ‘More than Gold’ event this summer but rather our circuit is supporting summer holiday clubs which are being run in different churches and organised through ‘Ageing Better Middlesbrough’.
A breakfast club runs on a Wednesday which is very well used. It is hoped to extend this and to also run a lunch club.
A new project, ARIADNE (MAP and other partner organisations - Red
Cross, Open Door, Justice First) uses the centre every Thursday and offers support and assistance to Asylum Seekers and Refugees. An Asylum Seeker who has been granted Asylum Status has been appointed to work with Ailsa. MAP also has a new website mapmiddlesbrough.org.uk
there have been two events so far this year, at Eston Grange and Grove Hill and a third one is planned for Normanby
a successful first event held at Nunthorpe had 22 attendees. A second film club has been planned
A group of year 11/12 students are working on a project to create an electronic resource for use in RE in schools. Using the internet and producing a map of the area
our churches can be pinned on the map and information about each
church can be attached.
planning is in place with Rev Lawrence Law for the Chinese congregation to become established as the Chinese Church in Middlesbrough.
Rev Wood-Archer will be joining the Middlesbrough and Eston Methodist Circuit. There will be a “Welcome Service” at Eston Grange Church on Sunday 3rd September 2017 at 2:30pm.
You will be made welcome at this joint circuit service.
The service will be a Communion Service. Afterwards there will also by a “Bring and Share” Faith Tea and an opportunity to say hello to Christopher and his wife.
