Mid-Week Service

The second Tuesday morning of each month

10.00am. The half-hour service is usually led by the minister, with hymns, prayers, reading and an address. After the service, coffee is served at the Drop-in Centre.

You would be very welcome.

We are part of the Middlesbrough and Eston Methodist Circuit which is in the Darlington District of the Methodist Church. Methodism began over 250 years ago through the work of the Rev. John Wesley. By the time of his death in 1791 there were some 70,000 Methodists. Today we belong to a world wide family numbering over 54 million.

Our aim as a Church is to help people:-

'To respond to the love of God we have recognised and received in Jesus Christ'.

WELCOME to Nunthorpe Methodist Church!

What follows tells how we try to do this through our worship, in various smaller groups which meet for study, fellowship, and social activities. These activities cater for all ages and we hope there is something which will be of help or interest to you.If you would like to know more, please fill in one of the cards at the back of Church or contact the minister direct (288075) and she will be pleased to call and see you.

CoGS meets each Sunday at 11.00 am as part of the family worship.

There are three groups: Primary under 7's Juniors 7 yrs to 11 yrs Seniors 11 yrs and older

They normally go into their own group after the second hymn.

When we have all age worship the whole church family worships together (e.g. Harvest, Christmas) and often the young people are actively involved in this.

Parents are very welcome to stay with younger children whilst they are getting to know the church and their fellow group members.

For further enquiries about COGS please phone Kay (Tel 01642 320627).

Bible Study

We set up courses which meet, usually weekly, for perhaps 4 or 5 weeks, to explore a particular theme or topic. Because of time pressures we feel that doing it this way is the best way to get most help. Anyone is welcome to join in. For details please see the weekly notices or contact the Rev. Susan Greenwood (Tel. 288075)

Prayer Group

Meets every Wednesday, at Church, at 9.15 am for half an hour. Anyone is welcome, if you cannot attend but would like prayers for a particular person or situation, please leave details on a PRAYER REQUEST form at the back of Church. (These requests will also be used in our Sunday worship). Alternatively, contact Dorothy 01642 313900

The Music Group

The group meets regularly at 10.15 am on a Sunday morning to prepare music for the worship at 11.00am It exists to lead congregational singing especially in new hymns and songs, and often sings during Communion. Our music is drawn from many varied sources some are from the traditions of Iona and Taize, and it provides opportunities for part singing and solos. From time to time the group is augmented by instrumentalists and we are looking to develop this further. If you sing or play an instrument you will be warmly welcomed, so please come along and join in! For further details please contact Beryl Lindley (Tel: 01642 714224)

Parking

Nunthorpe does not have off street parking!

The church is situated on the corner site of Connaught Road and Marton Moor Road. Nunthorpe     Sat Nav TS7 0BP

We try to avoid stress to our neighbours:- parking on the church side of the road minimises traffic flow problems.

Please make certain your vehicle does not hinder the local buses that use Marton Moor Road.

A full list of contacts and a more detailed description of the church is available at our church website
